The MTRCB issued the decision on Tuesday after weeks of investigation into the alleged child abuse of 6-year-old Janjan Suan on the show's March 12 episode. The show stopped showing live episodes on April 8, following the controversy. Willing Willie host, Willie Revillame, announced that they would go off-the-air starting April 11 and will return after two weeks. TV5 executives also said the show will return with a few changes in its format. The MTRCB said it acknowledged the actions of TV5 to address the issue, including the appointment of a child ombudsman. On April 19, TV5 issued “Guidelines on the Treatment of Children as Viewers, Subjects, Talents or Participants,” which will be followed by all shows of the network. But the MTRCB said that the popular game show is required to secure a permit from the MTRCB on every episode until the show can prove that they are more responsible in their broadcast.
